The motor scooter has been around since 1946 and whilst peaking in its popularity during the 50’s and 60’s remains as a popular and much used form of transport today.

During this period the scooter not only served as transport for the masses but became a fashion icon and as such is now an evocative addition to any film, stage or advertising project covering the late forties till the present.

The scooter is a feature of both ordinary working life and a continuing symbol of freedom representing youth cultures through the decades.

Many versions of the scooter have been produced, the most prolific and popular being the large range of Italian Vespa and Lambretta models. Most of these machines ceased production years ago but nonetheless, surviving examples continue to provide the backbone of a vibrant international scooter scene in the new millennium.
